Because alcohol and acetate have pleiotropic effects on brain circuitry and metabolism 14, we then developed an ex vivo assay to more closely model the direct effects of exogenous acetate on gene expression. We utilized isolated mouse primary hippocampal neurons to investigate the transcriptional response to supraphysiological levels of acetate (cells were cultured for one week after isolation and subsequently treated with 5 mM acetate for 24 hours) that mimics exogenous acetate influx during alcohol intake. Last, we fired up the popular 7-Zip file compression software and ran its built-in compression/decompression benchmark, which is another useful test of a CPU's multi-core abilities. The beauty of building a PC is that a diversity of parts allows users to construct a computer specifically designed to best serve their particular needs. AMD's Ryzen 7 1800X may not have taken Intel's crown for gaming, but the price vs performance ratio for just about everything else propels the fledgling line of processors well into contention. The Ryzen 7 1800X we recently reviewed isn't the only new AMD eight-core chip you can buy: cheaper 1700X and 1700 processors are available, and that is where the value really becomes difficult to ignore. For our test setup, we dropped the Ryzen 7 1700 into a Gigabyte-made Aorus AX370-Gaming 5 motherboard, along with 16GB of Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 memory running at 2,933MHz. An A MD Radeon RX 480 video card handled display output for our CPU-specific tests, and a Samsung SSD 750 EVO was the SATA-interface boot drive. We could have used a faster NVMe drive, but as we tested previous chips from Intel and AMD using SATA SSDs, we didn't want to drop in a speed demon and give the Ryzen 7 1700 an unfair advantage. SATA SSDs are still very respectable. The problem is that the market made those cloud castless, not the AMD... it is hard to AMD to say users not to speculate. Every information that AMD did give out was confirming that Ryzen was going to be really good multicore performer, and we all know that very few game use more that teo or three threats, so the extra 4-6 cores that Ryzen has normally Are useless I. The games, so any Intel 2-4 core prosessor wa going to better in the games if They would run in higher freguences that Ryzen and AMD very clearly tell us that 3.8 was the very near the top of the prosessor speed.
